Ministries of Community

The mission of Community involves uniting parishioners as a community through parish organizations, activities, and functions.

Crusader Youth Activity Association

Contact: Tom Koltunovich, President, 717-471-7792

Bringing children together as a community, this program offers an avenue for involvedment after school. Having fun and building confidence while learning sportsmanship and teamwork, and respect for one another are the focus of the program. CYAA is an active participant in leagues involving boys' and girls' basketball, soccer (fall and spring), and cheerleading. All children from St. Anne Parish, St. John Neumann Parish, and students of St. Anne School are eligible to play. Adults and young adults are needed for coaching, score or time keeping, selling concessions, and help with fundraising. Visit the website at for more information.

Spring Celebration

Contact: Terry Tafelski, 717-397-4421

This committee organizes and provides a traditional Easter "egg hunt" on Palm Sunday which takes place immediately following the 10:30 a.m. Mass. All children through Grade 6 are welcome to participate. This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to watch the joy of our young parishioners as they hunt for candy filled eggs in the Peace Garden and area surrounding the church. Volunteers are needed to hide the eggs after Mass. The committee handles all communications and preparations for the event. For more information or to help, please contact Terry.

Missing You Ministry

Contact: Donna Copeland, 717-341-2472

A ministry of hospitality, the homebound members of the parish are remembered and contacted through card writing. The kindergartners of St. Anne School, under the direction of their teacher, prepare greeting cards with notes to send to those in our parish community who are no longer able to be with us at Mass and whom we are missing.

Special Moment Acknowledgement

Contact: Janet Kreiner, 717-394-7003

A ministry of hospitality in which expressions of appreciation, greetings, condolences and congratulations are sent to parishioners on behalf of the St. Anne Parish community for milestone birthdays, graduations, sacramental firsts, special anniversaries and deaths. If you enjoy expressing yourself in written word, we welcome your help.

New Member Welcoming

Contact: Rebecca Morales, 717-394-0971

Members of this ministry of hospitality give the gift of genuine social comfort by greeting and bonding new parishioners to St. Anne Church. This involves welcome notes, telephone calls, a get-together and an invitation from the Stewardship Committee to share their time, talent, and treasure with the parish.

Parish Advocate for People with Disabilities

Contact: Ruthann Van Orden, 717-397-4605

The Diocesan Office of Ministry with People with Disabilities initiated this ministry to enable parishes to respond to the gifts and needs of parishioners with disabilities. The ministry is committed to building an environment where people with any disability are included in worship, parish life, and parish programs. At St. Anne, our goal is to not only make the worship space and liturgies more accommodating for our fellow parishioners with any type of limitation, but as importantly, to identify and utilize the gifts of each person to the fullest. As such, if you know of any impediments to full participation in any aspect of parish life, or any disability-related issue that needs an advocate to address with parish staff, please contact our Parish Advocate, Ruthann Van Orden, by telephone or email. Likewise, if you are aware of anyone with limitations who has a gift to share with the parish, please put us in touch with them so we can better serve our entire St. Anne Parish. Volunteers are needed to go to monthly Diocesan meetings, distribute information to the parish, evaluate the parish space for needed changes, and outreach to parishioners with disabilities to assist them in sharing their gifts. For more information or to get involved, please call or email Ruth.

Parish Directory

Contact: Mark Dalton, 717-629-2174

The purpose of the Parish Directory is to foster communication among parishioners and provide parish staff and ministry contact information. Throughout the year the parishioner's address, telephone number, and email address database is updated by the parish office staff. Once a year, a group of parishioners work together to update various sections of the directory to include: the history of the parish and school, the ministry descriptions and contact information, and the directory cover. If substantial changes have been made from the prior year, Parish Council approval is required. Lastly, the updated directory is sent electronically to a vendor for publication. New committee members are welcome and if interested, should contact Mark Dalton.

Parish History and Archives

Contact: Christine Whalen, 717-394-9512

This committee documents, records and archives the history of St. Anne Parish and School. With the completion in May of 2014 of the history wall in the Parish Library, the main focus now is to maintain our pictures, articles and other parish archives in scrapbooks and albums, which will eventually be available in the Library. Responsibilities include: researching documents and newspaper articles, designing the layout and compiling in scrapbooks and photo albums. The committee meets monthly or bimonthly depending on the project. New members welcomed and needed.
